Basketball Shooting Drills Games – 2 Great Team Basketball Drills To Improve Your Shooting
Basketball shooting drills games are a great way for an entire team to train together and develop and train their shooting abilities. Sure, you can do solo drills but they will usually lack the diversity and fun that team basketball drills do. Let’s take a closer look at some that you can try today.
Drill Game One: One On One
This game is incredibly simple and yet highly competitive and varied.
One player starts close to the foul line. There is no rule on exactly where he stands but he should be within shooting range. The other player passes the ball from behind the baseline and passes it.
The receiving player then tries to score from wherever he receives it. He cannot dribble the ball – he must shoot from wherever he receives the ball. He must also do this while the other player legally tries to prevent him from shooting.
If the shot is successful, the scorer moves to another position on the court of his own choosing before starting the game again. If not, then they trade places.
Drill Game Two: 3 Point Face Off
This is a great way to encourage a little healthy competition and teamwork. Split your squad into two teams and have each team take one side of the court and line up around the 3-point line.
The player in the corner takes the first shot. He keeps shooting until he successfully gets a basket. This means that he needs to retrieve the ball if he misses and return to his spot to take another shot. This puts great pressure on the player to focus and take a good shot.
When he gets the basket, he should retrieve the ball and pass it to the next person along. He should also provide some resistance. This means that each player (apart from the first) is under immediate pressure to take the shot and make it count. He should be ready before he even receives the ball.
If the shot results in a miss, the previous player who is still nearer the hoop should collect it and pass it back to them from behind the baseline.
Whichever team successfully has all their players make the shot will win. However, this is not a serious competition because if you really wanted to win then your own players would not give each other much resistance. If they did this, though, then they would not get the maximum benefit from this shooting drill! budapest shooting
