During the course of the sessions, they will identify the key issues and work together to set realistic goals that the client can work towards. These will be based on the client’s individual needs, and will take into account factors such as their current lifestyle, job and family and any underlying issues that are contributing to their distress.
Counselling can be very helpful if you are experiencing stress, loss of self-confidence, depression, anxiety or any other emotional and mental health problems. It can be a difficult and challenging experience, but with commitment from both the client and counsellor, it can be life changing. It is important to find a counsellor that you get on with and can trust, and remember that it takes time to build this.
