What is an Industrial Dehydrator?
A dehydrator is a small drying machine that uses hot air to preserve foods, such as meats. It is an important tool for restaurants because it can cut down on food waste. For example, discarded banana peels and stems can be dried and reused as a seasoning in soups and smoothies. This saves money and reduces waste from the kitchen.
The industrial dehydrator is a system that is capable of dehydrating various vegetables, fruits, and meats using the power of heat and air. It uses an aeraulic circuit that is designed to provide a homogeneous flow of air throughout the tray and trolleys to ensure a quality result and uniformity in the product drying. The aeraulic circuit is controlled by a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). The PLC handles the hardware interface (connection to all sensors and actuators) and control. It also supervises the operation of the raspberry pi microcomputer, which is responsible for hosting the dehydrator web app and data storage. The web interface is made available on the system HMI screen as well as on a PC or mobile device via Wi-Fi.
In order to maximize the dehydrator’s efficiency, it is important to keep it clean. The trays and mesh sheets should be washed frequently to remove any debris, dirt, or other contaminants that can interfere with the drying process. It is also a good idea to regularly inspect the heating element for any signs of wear and tear. industrial dehydrator
